Stayvo Campus — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how
Stayvo, Inc. ("Stayvo," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares
information when you use the
Stayvo Campus mobile application and
related services (the "App"). By using the
App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree,
please do not use the App.
Note: This policy describes the
Stayvo Campus experience. It does not cover
partner services (e.g., landlords or third-party platforms) that maintain
their own policies.
1) What We Collect
We collect information in these categories:
A. Account & Identity

.edu email and university domain
(required to create an account).

Name, username/handle, graduation year, campus affiliation, and any
other profile fields you choose to provide.
- Email verification status and timestamps.
B. Profile & Content You Provide

Photos, bios, tags, housing preferences and listings, interests, and
other profile details.

Messages and interactions (e.g., likes).
Replies are free; free accounts have
limited message starts.
C. Payment & Subscription

We use Stripe to process
Campus+ payments. Stripe collects payment
method details (e.g., card data) directly;
we do not store full card numbers. We may
receive limited billing metadata from Stripe (e.g., last4, brand,
country, transaction outcome).
D. Device & Usage

Device identifiers, app version, language, time zone, operating system.

IP address, general location (city/region), and in-app actions (e.g.,
sign-up, profile completion, message events, purchases).
- Crash logs and diagnostics.
E. Referral & Campaign Attribution

If you join through a
campaign link or QR code, we store the
campaign/campus/partner identifiers to understand which posts or campus
reps drove sign-ups.
We may combine the above with publicly available information or
information we receive from service providers (e.g., analytics and
anti-abuse services).
2) How We Use Information
We use information to:

Operate the App and provide features
(profiles, matching, messaging, housing discovery).

Verify student status via
.edu email and enforce platform
eligibility.

Provide paid features and handle payments
via Stripe.

Maintain safety, including content
moderation, spam prevention, and abuse handling.

Measure and improve the App (performance,
features, adoption by campus, UX testing).

Communicate with you (service
announcements, support, transactional emails).

Comply with law and enforce our
Terms of Service.
We do not use your data for third-party
targeted advertising. The App has no ads.
3) Sharing of Information
We share information in these cases:

Service Providers. With vendors who help
us operate the App (e.g., hosting, analytics, email, crash reporting,
payment processing via Stripe). These providers may access your
information only to perform services for us and must protect it.

Legal & Safety. To comply with law or
valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, and property of
Stayvo, our users, or others; to detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

Business Transfers. If we are involved in
a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information
may be transferred as part of that transaction.

With Your Direction. If you choose to
share content or links externally, or connect with a third-party
service, we may share information at your request.
We do not sell personal information and we
do not share it for cross-context
behavioral advertising.
4) Messaging & Safety

Messaging. Messages are stored so that
you and your recipients can access them. We may retain metadata (e.g.,
timestamps). Do not share sensitive personal, financial, or health
information in messages.

Moderation. We may review or take action
on content that's reported or that appears to violate our Terms (e.g.,
scams, harassment, impersonation).

Reporting. Users can report profiles or
messages. We may notify and cooperate with law enforcement as required.
5) Your Choices & Rights

Access & Update. You can view and edit
profile information in the App.

Email Settings. You can opt out of
non-essential emails by using unsubscribe links. We'll still send
transactional messages (e.g., receipts, support, service updates).

Delete Account. You can delete your
account in settings. Deleting your account removes your profile and
restricts access to messages moving forward; some logs or backups may be
retained for a limited period as described below.

State Rights (US). Depending on where you
live (e.g., California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah), you may
have rights to access,
delete,
correct, or
opt out of certain processing. Email
stayvoapp@gmail.com to exercise these
rights. We may verify your request (e.g., email verification).

No Sales/Sharing. We do not sell personal
information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If
laws require an opt-out link, contact
stayvoapp@gmail.com and we will honor it.
6) Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the App and for
legitimate business needs, including security, fraud prevention, and legal
compliance:

Account data: retained while your account
is active; deleted or anonymized within a reasonable time after you
delete your account.

Messages & content: retained while your
account is active and for a limited period thereafter for safety and
legal purposes.

Campaign attribution & analytics events:
typically up to 12 months (aggregated
thereafter).

Transaction records: retained as required
by tax/accounting laws (often 7 years).

Backups & logs: retained for limited
periods and then deleted or anonymized.
We may also retain data as necessary to resolve disputes, enforce our
Terms, and comply with legal obligations.
7) Children's Privacy
The App is for adults 18+ only. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you
believe a user is under 18, contact
stayvoapp@gmail.com and we will take
appropriate action.
8) International Transfers
We may process and store information in the United States and other
countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may
have data-protection laws that are different from those in your country.
We use measures designed to protect your information consistent with this
policy and applicable law.
9) Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect
your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and
monitoring. No system is perfectly secure; please use strong passwords,
keep your device updated, and be cautious with links and attachments.
10) Third-Party Services
The App may link to or integrate with third-party services (e.g., Stripe
for payments). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms
and privacy policies, not this one. We are not responsible for third-party
practices.
11) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material
changes, we will notify you (e.g., in-app notice or email).
Your continued use of the App after the effective date means you accept
the updated policy.
